How to Prepare a 60-Second Cloud Voice Sales Pitch

Use a simple problem, outcome, example and referral request to explain cloud voice in a memorable 60-second networking introduction.

Many business networking groups give each member about 60 seconds to introduce their service. That is enough time to create interest, but not enough to explain every feature of a cloud phone platform.

Start with a recognisable problem

Avoid opening with terms such as hosted PBX, SIP registration or session border controller. Business owners are more likely to remember situations they recognise: missed calls, remote staff using personal mobiles, an office move or a telephone contract approaching renewal.

Use a five-part structure

  1. Who you help.
  2. The problem you solve.
  3. How the service changes the outcome.
  4. A short example or scenario.
  5. The exact referral you want.

Example 60-second cloud voice pitch

I help local businesses replace outdated telephone systems with managed cloud voice. A common problem is that calls still ring on phones inside the office even when staff are working remotely or visiting customers. With a properly designed business phone system, employees can answer their business number from a desk phone, computer or mobile application. Calls can use departments, queues and out-of-hours routing while the company keeps control of its numbers. This week I would like an introduction to a business with more than five employees that is moving premises, recruiting remote staff or reviewing its telephone contract.

Make the referral specific

“Anyone who needs phones” is too broad. Ask for a company opening a second site, a business with five or more mobile employees, a serviced-office operator or an organisation receiving complaints about unanswered calls.

Create several versions

Change the topic each week. One pitch can cover remote working, another number porting, another call queues and another business continuity. Over time, the group will understand the full scope of 39T business phone systems, 3CX, Yealink devices and SIP trunks.

Avoid exaggerated claims

Do not promise that every cloud phone system will reduce cost or eliminate missed calls. Results depend on connectivity, configuration, user behaviour and the customer’s requirements. A credible pitch invites a review rather than guaranteeing an outcome before discovery.

End with one action

Finish with a simple request such as: “Please introduce me to the person responsible for your company’s phone and internet contracts.” A clear final sentence is more memorable and makes it easier for other members to act.
